The Photo Marketing Association International has joined forces with the Photo Imaging Council of Australia to promote a new show concept for the Asia-Pacific photo imaging industry. The first PMA Australia show was held in Melbourne in 2007, Brisbane 2008 and Sydney in 2009.

The annual Australian PMA imaging show will be given a new name and treatment for the 2010 event due to be held Friday 4th to Sunday 6th June at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. Now in its twenty-ninth year, the Australasian Show will be promoted under the name of Digital Life Expo rather than the customary Photo Imaging Technology tag.

You will need to register to attend – it’s free. Go to the website below for more information.

VIGEX – International Photography Competition

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 | Competitions, Member News | No Comments

Two news items in one day, what a day. There was a post about competitions today already but VIGEX is so great that I decided that it deserved its own post!

Those that saw Vigex two years ago will know the quality of the entries. It’s a bi-annual competition. So get out your best work and find the correct section and enter. You could find yourself with more glory than one photographer can handle.  There are a number of sections and finding the correct one can mean the all the difference. Sections such as photo journalism, black and white and even a creative section  where Photoshop rules. The competition is prints only (no digital images) so get down to the printers.

The exhibition has received FIAP Patronage 2010/003, APS Patronage 2010/02 PSA Recognition for Monochrome; Colour; Nature; Photojournalism; Creative.

So check out the website for more details. Also please spread the word to all your photography friends.
