Club Members Honoured

Jul 8, 2013   //   by Jack   //   Member News  //  No Comments

At the Annual Image of the Year presentation on Saturday July 6 2013, Barry Feldman, Jack Jansen, Tim McCarthy and Coral Spence, four long serving members of Corio Bay Camera Club,  were awarded Life Membership of the club.

Barry Feldman joined the club in March 1994 and has arguably been Corio Bay’s most successful exhibitor, winning numerous club, national and international awards. Barry has held the positions of Vice President (1996), Competition Secretary (1997-98) and President (1999) in addition to serving on the general committee for many years. He is the “go-to” person for advice in the club – which is always given willingly with a minimum of fuss.

Jack Jansen has been associated with the club since 1982. He was a member for four years before taking “leave of absence” for about nine years, re-joining in 1994. For most of his time in the club Jack has been involved with its running in some way, including holding the positions of Treasurer (1985), Competition Secretary (1995-96), Vice President (1997-98) and President (2003-12). He is currently the Club Secretary.

Tim McCarthy joined the club in April 1985. Tim has had an Executive role in the club continuously since 1987 when he was elected Vice president. He was also President in 1988 and 1989. He became Treasurer in 1990 and held that position until 1993. In 1994 and 1995 he became Vice President again. In 1996 he was again elected to the position of Treasurer and has held that position continuously since then.

Coral Spence joined the club in September 1988. Coral held the position of Competition Secretary between 1990 and 1993 and was a member of the general committee for many years. Over the years Coral has also represented Corio Bay as a member of the Vigex Committee. For much of the time Coral works quietly in the background, always there to lend a hand when it is needed. Coral joins her husband Bert as a Life Member
