Geelong CC retains Ford Perpetual Trophy

At the annual interclub competition between Corio Bay Camera Club and Geelong Camera Club, held on October 9, Geelong was again the successful club and therefore retained the Ford Perpetual Trophy. The two clubs have been competing for this trophy since 1973, with Geelong having held it continuously since 2005.

Scores: Prints – CBCC 213, Geelong 228; EDI CBCC 209, Geelong 228; Overall CBCC 422, Geelong 456.

Best Print Geelong: Age and Simple Beauty – Janet Rogerson; Best Print CBCC (joint): Apostles Sunset – Cecily McCarthy and Two O’clock at Two – Stephen Paul.

Best EDI Geelong: Eight – Heather O’Flynn; Best EDI CBCC: Pensive – Lisa Kenny

CBCC Seniors Festival “Come and Try”

The Click n Chat group’s “Come and Try” sessions, part of the Geelong Seniors Festival continue each Thursday morning in October from 10 till noon.

At our next meeting on October 30, Brenton Ford from Geelong Camera Hire will visit the club to demonstrate and answer members’ questions on some of the latest gear.

A number of members have already booked for the club’s weekend away to Maryborough from November 7 – 9. It’s not too late to come along. Contact Lisa Kenny for more details.

At the meeting on November 13, we will be viewing images from the two international three way interclub competitions.

Geelong Cemeteries Trust Photographic Competition Results

Winners of the Geelong Cemeteries Trust photographic competition were announced at a function at the Gordon Gallery on Tuesday September 23. The competition was open to members of the Bellarine, Geelong and Corio Bay Camera Clubs. The winning image belonged to Lyn Northam from Bellarine. Second place was awarded to Heather Prince from Geelong and Jack Jansen from Corio Bay was awarded third place. In all, seventy entries were received and these are on display at the Gordon Gallery, Fenwick Street Geelong until Friday October 3.
