Advanced Digital Workshop
Ballarat YMCA Camera Group is running an Advanced Digital Photography workshop on Sunday April 19th from 10.00 am till 5.00 pm. Cost is $30 – BYO lunch and camera. Numbers are limited to 16 attendees.
Venue: Kohinoor Community Centre. Corner Errard and Sebastopol Streets Ballarat.
The workshop is being run by Adrian Cooke and will cover:
- How light affects the Visual Elements (Shape, Texture, Form and Colour) in a photograph.
- Understanding ‘Hyperfocal Distance’ to help control ‘Depth of Field’.
- Controlling ‘Perspective’ by changing lens focal lengths and the camera to subject distance.
- Creating a greater ‘Colour Space’ (and more accurate colours) by using Adobe RGB
- Using ‘Raw’ files to control the exposure range of digital images.
- Composition and the Personal Viewpoint.
- Developing the ‘Photographic Eye’ and learning to see ‘Pictorially’.
There will also be two practical exercises: “The Professional Portrait” and “Texture – Pattern – Shape – Repetition”.
Note – this is not a course for beginners. Participants will need to know how to operate their camera in manual mode.

New Photo sharing/competion website
A new weekly photosharing / online competition website www.photoenter.com has been brought to our attention – members may wish to check it out. It appears to be in the very early stages of development. The site offers weekly theme competitions and offers cash priizes. There is also a forum and links to other photgraphic websites.
Batch Image Processors / Resizers
A while ago people were talking about batch image processors and resizers. These tools can be handy to make all your images smaller when making a slide show using pictures 2 exe or pro show. Any way I have found a link that lists a few of them. Thought it may be helpful
Extreme Macro Photography – Reversing lens
