Australia Day – Jan 26
This year’s Hanging Rock races on Australia Day (Jan 26) have been relocated to Kyneton due to damage to the track. The general consensus of members was that we should instead have an informal BBQ at Osborne House starting at around 6.00 pm. BYO food and drinks. We will have a BBQ on site. Bring along any images/projects that you have been working on to share with members. As it’s Australia Day, there will be fireworks from the Waterfront later in the evening, so bring along your gear to capture the event. Prints for the September Competitions are also due on this night. Projected images can be uploaded any time via the Competitions page.
Christmas Breakup – 04/12/11
Overcast, but without rain, members met at the Bert Boardman reserve in Steiglitz for this year’s Christmas get-together. In the end about twenty members and families had an enjoyable day. A few pics from the day below.

“Geelong – Then and Now” Exhibition
As part of the National Trust Heritage Festival 2011, Corio Bay Camera Club is currently holding an exhibition called “Geelong – Then and Now”. The exhibition features old photographs of the Geelong and Bellarine Peninsula region, rephotographed as they are today, allowing viewers to compare what has changed, and what remains the same. To date the exhibition has generated a very positive response. The exhibition continues until April 20 and is located at its clubrooms at Osborne House, Swinburne Street North Geelong. In addition to the CBCC exhibition, there is also a comprehensive exhibition of Antarctic memorabilia, including the art of Neil Roberts, model steam engines built by the Geelong Society of Model and Experimental Engineers, and memorabilia from the National Servicemen’s Association.
Geelong Seniors Festival Exhibition
The Geelong Seniors Festival Exhibition was held in the last week in October in conjunction with other groups that use at Osborne House. There was a steady trickle of people through the show, particularly towards and over the weekend. This was the first time CBCC have exhibited at Osborne House.
Many members gave generously of their time to prepare and staff the show. To have an exhibition run for a whole week was a big undertaking and we would not have been able to do it without this commitment. CBCC has a great space at Osborne House to stage these exhibitions and we hope to stage many more.
